Continuing education helps Texas real estate professionals stay informed about changes to state law, contracts, professional responsibilities, and the issues affecting today’s real estate transactions.
Texas sales agents and brokers generally must complete 18 hours of TREC-approved continuing education during each two-year license period to maintain an active license. These hours include:
4 hours of TREC Legal Update I
4 hours of TREC Legal Update II
3 hours of contract-related coursework
7 hours of elective continuing education
License holders who have been designated as a supervisor by their broker must complete the 6-hour Broker Responsibility course as part of their required 18 hours.
-
TREC continuing education requirements are separate from the professional training required for REALTOR® association membership.
Members of the National Association of REALTORS® must also complete qualifying Code of Ethics training during each established training cycle. NAR currently also requires qualifying Fair Housing and Anti-Bias training on the same three-year cycle.
Before registering for a course, license holders should review their individual TREC education record to confirm which requirements remain outstanding.
-
Our courses are designed to help Texas real estate license holders complete the elective portion of their continuing education requirements through practical, relevant instruction in an engaging classroom environment.
These classes do not replace TREC Legal Update I or II, required contract-related coursework, Broker Responsibility training, or any separate REALTOR® association requirements.
